JUST IN: Miami Football Add 4-star Pass Catcher Over LSU.

Miami football secured a major recruiting victory with the commitment of four-star tight end. The Hurricanes continue to build momentum under head coach Mario Cristobal, who has helped steer the program in a positive direction. After finishing 7-6 in 2023, Miami improved to 10-3 in 2024, ending the season ranked No. 18 nationally. Although a late-season loss to Syracuse dashed their College Football Playoff hopes, the overall trajectory of the program remains promising.

Cristobal’s success extends to the recruiting trail. Miami boasts a top-15 recruiting class for this season and just added Briggs to a 2026 group currently ranked seventh nationally. As reported by On3’s Hayes Fawcett, the 6-foot-5, 210-pound tight end from Visalia, California, chose Miami over LSU.

Briggs will enter a program striving to maintain its upward trend. A key part of that effort involves continued quarterback success through the transfer portal. The Hurricanes struck gold in 2024 by landing Cam Ward from Washington State. Ward, a native of West Columbia, Texas, thrived under Cristobal—earning ACC Player of the Year, First-Team All-American honors, and becoming the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Looking ahead, Miami has brought in another high-level quarterback in former Georgia standout Carson Beck. A two-time national champion and 2023 All-SEC honoree, Beck brings big-game experience and is expected to help the Hurricanes push for ACC supremacy and a spot in the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff.
