BREAKING NEWS: Unfortunate Blow For Seattle Mariners’ Dan Wilson.

The Seattle Mariners are putting together a strong season, but injuries are starting to take a toll—most recently with right-hander side lined due to inflammation in his throwing elbow.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today noted on X (formerly Twitter), “The Seattle Mariners, who relied on remarkable health in their rotation over the past two years—using only six starters last season—now find themselves without 60% of their rotation, as Bryce Miller joins Logan Gilbert and George Kirby on the injured list.”

Miller was added to the 15-day IL after undergoing an MRI, which showed no structural damage. He’s aiming for a return as soon as May 27, the earliest date he’s eligible for activation. His most recent start came on May 11, when he gave up seven runs on eight hits in five innings against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Following that outing, Miller revealed he had been managing arm soreness and tightness in his back, symptoms that had lingered throughout the season.

“I felt good going into the game, but by the third or fourth inning, something didn’t feel right—it just didn’t feel normal like it usually does,” Miller said.

Mariners GM Justin Hollander echoed optimism about Miller’s status, saying, “We don’t think it’s anything serious… Our priority is to do what’s best for Bryce and make sure this is handled properly.”

Through eight starts this season, Miller has posted a 5.22 ERA with 35 strikeouts and 21 walks over 39 2/3 innings.

Meanwhile, the Mariners are hoping for reinforcements soon. George Kirby, who began the season on the IL with shoulder inflammation after being shut down in spring training, has made two rehab appearances with Triple-A Tacoma. Logan Gilbert, out since April 25 with a right flexor strain, threw his first bullpen session on May 13.
