Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard recently appeared on “The Modest Sports Show” with host Kory Albert, where he looked back on the Crimson Tide’s 2024 season and discussed his path to joining the team.
When Albert asked Bernard to sum up Alabama’s 2024 campaign, the receiver didn’t mince words.
“A–,” Bernard replied bluntly.
The Nevada native elaborated by saying the season left a bitter feeling for the team.
“We’ve got a nasty taste in our mouths,” Bernard said. “Nobody wants to feel that again. We’re putting in the work now, and the team chemistry is improving.”
With the 2025 season on the horizon, Bernard sees a chance to elevate both his performance and leadership, aiming to grow as a player and a person.
“Personally, I’m focused on becoming a vocal leader and doing things the right way consistently,” he said. “It’s a new role for me, but I’m embracing it. I’ve been working to learn and grow, including watching motivational podcasts like The Pivot, which is one of my favorites. I find inspiration in those messages, and I want to pass that on to my teammates.”

Bernard also emphasized his spiritual journey and desire to support others.
“I’m trying to help others walk in faith,” he said. “I believe God put me here for a reason, and I’m doing my best to understand that purpose and bring others along with me.”
