Things are looking strong for Oklahoma women’s basketball at the moment, but even successful programs aren’t immune to the effects of the transfer portal.
In their fourth year under head coach Jennie Baranczyk, the Sooners posted a 27–8 record and reached the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2013. Their NCAA Tournament run came to an end with a loss to eventual national champion UConn.
The transfer portal officially opened on March 24—the same day OU knocked off Iowa to punch their ticket to the Sweet 16. Just a week later, and shortly after their season-ending loss to UConn, Oklahoma saw its first roster departure: junior shooting guard Reyna Scott.
As of now, only two Sooners have entered the portal. However, the team has yet to bring in any new transfers.

Junior shooting guard Reyna Scott became Oklahoma’s first player to enter the transfer portal on March 31. A New York City native, Scott has spent her entire college career with the Sooners.
This past season, she played a key role for OU, appearing in every game and earning 16 starts. Her first career start came on Jan. 26 against Georgia, and she remained in the starting lineup for the rest of the year.
Scott finished the season averaging 4.8 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.
