With the 2025 NFL Draft just over a month away, the Minnesota Vikings are gearing up despite having limited picks this year. General manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah could still ignite some exciting moves on draft weekend.
The Vikings are clearly focused on bolstering key positions, particularly on the interior of both their offensive and defensive lines. In fact, last week Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune suggested that Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon is a top priority for the team.
Additionally, the Vikings are looking to address needs in the secondary and at wide receiver. Goessling recently took to Twitter to highlight another draft prospect to watch — Baylor Bears wide receiver Monaray Baldwin.

Monaray Baldwin spent four years at Baylor, finishing with 99 receptions for 1,673 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also had 19 rush attempts—or plays behind the line of scrimmage—for 178 yards and 2 touchdowns. His standout season was in 2023 as a junior, when he recorded 38 catches for 623 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Reviewing his highlight reels as a Baylor Bear reveals that the Minnesota Vikings are in search of a specific type of wide receiver for Kevin O’Connell’s offense. Similar to Rondale Moore, the recent free agent signing at the position, Baldwin is a smaller, speedy receiver, officially listed at 5’9″ and clocking a 4.32 40-yard dash at the Big 12 Pro Day.
Following his impressive showing, the Killeen, TX native met with Vikings representatives at Big 12 Pro Day. Baldwin could bring a level of shifty elusiveness to the offense that the team hasn’t seen since this coaching regime began.

Vikings have immediate and future need at wide receiver
Jordan Addison, who just turned 23 and is entering his third pro season, has justified the first-round pick the Vikings used on him in 2022. However, due to a suspension expected from his DUI arrest last offseason, he is projected to miss three games this season.
Looking ahead, it’s unlikely that the Vikings will attempt to extend Addison once his rookie contract expires in the next few years—especially considering they’re already paying Justin Jefferson $35 million per season. While wide receiver might not seem like a pressing need at first glance, it has clearly become a priority for the team this offseason.
They began addressing the immediate 2025 WR3 situation by signing speedy, undersized free agent Rondale Moore. The 24-year-old former second-round pick out of Purdue is eager to regain his form and return to football after missing the entire 2024 season due to injury.
