JUST IN: 4-Star In-State Linebacker Explains Flip From Auburn To Georgia.

Shadarius Toodle’s decision to flip his commitment from Auburn to Georgia wasn’t so much about what Auburn lacked—it was about what Georgia offers.

The four-star linebacker from Cottage Hill Christian Academy in Mobile explained his reasoning during an interview Wednesday on WNSP-FM 105.5’s “The Opening Kickoff.”

“Georgia develops linebackers,” Toodle said. “I felt like it was the best decision for me.”

Toodle had originally committed to Auburn in July but announced his flip to Georgia this past Sunday. Despite the switch, he still holds Auburn in high regard.

“I built strong relationships with the coaches and staff at Auburn,” he said. “They involved me in everything and even encouraged me to help recruit others. But in the end, I didn’t think that would help get me to the NFL. Georgia’s development just stood out more.”

He also mentioned that Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze reached out via text to wish him the best.

As expected, the reaction from fans was mixed.

“I got a lot of hate from Auburn fans, but I still have love for Auburn and their fan base,” Toodle said. “On the other hand, Georgia fans really showed me love and welcomed me.”
