After taking an official visit to Athens last week, speculation grew that Caden Harris might decommit from Vanderbilt. That speculation became reality Saturday morning when the talented defensive back announced his commitment to Georgia.
4-Star CB Caden Harris Flips from Vanderbilt to Georgia
This is a major win for Georgia. Harris, a 6-foot, 160-pound corner from Brownsville, Tennessee, had initially committed to Vanderbilt in late April, which was a big get for the Commodores given his in-state ties. But Georgia stayed in the mix and never let up, making Harris feel like a top priority. His official visit proved to be the turning point, giving him a firsthand look at what the Bulldogs have to offer.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Harris is the No. 11 cornerback in the 2026 class, the No. 3 player from Tennessee, and ranks No. 85 nationally. He had a whopping 40 scholarship offers, including ones from Alabama, Florida State, and others.
Georgia now boasts 16 commitments in its 2026 class, which ranks fourth in the nation, according to 247Sports. Kirby Smart has been red-hot on the trail, and more commitments are expected in the near future.
Another Big Win: 4-Star OL Zykie Helton Commits to Georgia
The Bulldogs continued their recruiting success by securing another major pledge—this time on the offensive line. After a recent visit to Athens, 4-star inside offensive lineman Zykie Helton committed to Georgia’s 2026 class.
Helton, previously committed to Alabama, chose the Bulldogs over Georgia Tech, Florida State, and the Crimson Tide. He is ranked as the No. 41 interior offensive lineman in the class and was clearly a priority for multiple top programs.
Following his official visit, Helton felt strongly that Georgia was the right fit thanks to the positive impression left by the coaching staff and current players. Georgia’s ability to win over a recruit once committed to Alabama makes this a particularly satisfying victory for Smart and his staff.
Helton sent a strong message to Bulldog Nation after his decision:
