Mark Pope assembled an experienced roster for his first season at Kentucky, and one player exceeded expectations—Otega Oweh.

The Oklahoma transfer made a significant impact, averaging 16 points and five rebounds per game in his breakout season.

Oweh became a crucial part of Kentucky’s Sweet 16 run, especially after Jaxson Robinson went down with a season-ending injury.

Now, Oweh is testing the NBA Draft waters, weighing the possibility of returning to Lexington versus staying in the draft.

He turned heads during Wednesday’s 5-on-5 scrimmages, impressing with his performance on both ends of the floor.

In a brief conversation with ESPN, Oweh opened up about where he stands in the process—offering a quote that will catch the attention of Big Blue Nation.

“The biggest thing for me is finding the right fit,” he said. “My dream is to play in the NBA, so if I get great feedback and the path is clear, I’ll absolutely go for it. But either way, I’m in a great spot. I’m just grateful to God for the opportunity.

“I’ve got a great situation waiting at Kentucky if I decide to return. No matter what happens, I’m thankful.”

Oweh has until May 28 to make his final decision.
