The Georgia Bulldogs will have a new starting quarterback in 2025 after Carson Beck’s departure. With a quarterback battle underway, Gunner Stockton currently leads the race to take over, while Ryan Puglisi sits in second. If Stockton secures the role and holds onto it for the next two seasons, there’s a chance Puglisi could transfer in 2026 if he doesn’t get a shot at starting.
Given Stockton’s limited eligibility and the uncertainty surrounding Puglisi’s future, Georgia may need to secure a long-term quarterback in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
One of their top targets was 5-star quarterback Jared Curtis, a standout junior from Nashville Christian. Ranked as the No. 1 quarterback and No. 6 overall prospect in the 2026 class by On3, Curtis had an outstanding season, guiding his team to a state title while earning honors as Tennessee’s Gatorade Player of the Year and Mr.
Football. He posted 2,830 passing yards and 40 touchdowns with just three interceptions on 179-of-255 passing, adding 637 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground in 13 games.

Curtis initially committed to Georgia in March 2024 but backed off that pledge in October. On Monday at 5:30 p.m. ET, he held a national announcement ceremony to share his decision.
During the event, Curtis recommitted to Georgia for the 2026 season, choosing the Bulldogs over the Oregon Ducks. He becomes Georgia’s highest-rated quarterback commitment since Brock Vandagriff in 2021.
