Hugh Freeze is steadily building a powerhouse at Auburn. The Tigers currently hold seven commitments in the 2026 recruiting class, placing them 13th nationally—just behind national contender Texas.
With the 2025 class ranked No. 8 and a promising 2026 class gaining momentum, Freeze appears to be setting Auburn up for sustained success in the coming years.
One of the more recent storylines generating buzz is five-star edge rusher . Despite being committed to Maryland, Elee drew attention to Auburn with a cryptic post on X (formerly Twitter).
Elee committed to the Terrapins in December 2024 and is ranked as the No. 1 EDGE in his class and the No. 2 overall player in Maryland. Before he made his decision, both On3 and 247Sports viewed Auburn as a strong contender for his commitment.
As of now, 247Sports lists Auburn as having “cool” interest in Elee, while On3 surprisingly gives Oregon the edge with an 86.3% chance of flipping his commitment.

Meanwhile, Freeze already has one edge rusher on board for 2026—four-star Hezekiah Harris, who committed last July. The rest of Auburn’s 2026 class includes four additional four-star recruits and two three-star prospects.
Looking at the 2025 class, Auburn has commitments from one five-star, 15 four-stars, and 10 three-stars. So far, no school has landed a commitment for the classes of 2027 or 2028.
