Arkansas freshman entered the transfer portal just before the deadline last week. In his Instagram announcement, he emphasized that his primary goal is to pursue an NBA career, with the portal serving as a backup to explore his options. However, based on recent buzz, returning to college — potentially with a new team — might be the more lucrative move.
If he decides to play another year in college, the Florida Gators may already be leading the race for his commitment. According to Bo Mattingly of The Chuck & Bo Show, the offer on the table could be worth up to $7 million.
Boogie Fland to Florida for $7 million?
“I was shocked by what I heard,” Mattingly said. “If Fland doesn’t stay in the draft, he could be looking at a deal worth $5 to $7 million.”
“Good for him,” added executive producer Bart Pohlman.

It would indeed be a massive opportunity for Fland. Staying at Arkansas likely wouldn’t match that kind of financial package — especially given the loaded backcourt featuring players like Darius Acuff and DJ Wagner, which could also cut into his playing time.
If Florida, the reigning national champions, is offering that kind of NIL deal, it’s easy to see why Fland might choose to switch SEC teams. More importantly, staying in college might actually be more profitable than going pro. In the 2024 NBA Draft, only the top 11 picks earned more than $5 million. Fland is projected to go late in the first round or into the second, which would put his rookie deal closer to $4 million — or even result in a two-way contract with little guaranteed income.
Ultimately, Fland will choose the path that suits him best. But if that path leads to Florida, Mattingly put it well: “Man, good for you. We love you. We’re still family. Go get your money.” After all, that kind of payday won’t be coming from Arkansas.
