BREAKING: A 6-Foot-7, 220-Pound Wing From Missouri, Has Officially Committed To The University Of Miami After Entering The NCAA Transfer Portal Earlier This Month.

Marcus Allen, a 6-foot-7, 220-pound wing from Missouri, has officially committed to the University of Miami after entering the NCAA transfer portal earlier this month. A former four-star recruit, Allen spent his freshman season at Missouri and is now part of a wave of new additions under incoming head coach Jai Lucas, who has prioritized keeping elite in-state talent close to home.

Allen played in 26 games for Missouri during the 2024–25 season, averaging 2.6 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.5 assists in 9.2 minutes per game. He shot 43.9% from the field and an outstanding 88.2% from the free-throw line. Though he took few three-point shots, he still made 40% of his attempts from deep.

His move to Miami represents a return to familiar territory—Allen is a product of Miami Norland High School, where he led the team to a Florida state championship in 2024. He was ranked No. 74 nationally and No. 25 among small forwards in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

The Hurricanes recently hired Charlton “C.Y.” Young as associate head coach. A Miami native, Young brings nearly three decades of Division I coaching experience, including a recent stint at Missouri, where he coached Allen. With nine NCAA Tournament appearances and 15 NBA Draft picks under his belt, Young’s presence in Miami is expected to significantly boost recruiting—and Allen’s commitment may be the first sign of that impact.

Allen’s transfer reflects Coach Lucas’s strategy of building a team rooted in Florida’s talent pool. “Florida has some of the best players in the country coming out in the next few years,” Lucas said. “It’s about building relationships and helping them see the value of staying home and playing at Miami.” With Allen now in the fold, the Hurricanes are shaping one of the most promising recruiting classes in college basketball.
