Verizon announced Wednesday that it’s teaming up with the Indianapolis Colts and Team Penske to invest $6 million over the next two years to help pay off debt for veterans in Indiana.
The initiative includes $2 million through a partnership with the Colts, another $2 million alongside Team Penske, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and the Indy 500, and a potential additional $2 million if Will Power’s No. 12 Verizon car places in the top 10 at this year’s Indy 500.
“Verizon’s commitment to innovation and dependability is unmatched, and the Colts are proud to partner with a company that genuinely supports its community,” said Colts Vice Chair and Owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon. “This collaboration reflects the power of teamwork and shared values, benefiting veterans who served our country while positively impacting lives throughout Indiana.”
This local initiative is part of Verizon’s broader $22 million veteran debt relief program across the Great Lakes region over the next two years. In 2024 alone, Verizon has already helped relieve more than $4 million in debt for over 4,800 veterans.

Brady added, “At Verizon, we’re committed to honoring veterans not just in words, but through action. Providing up to $6 million in debt relief here in Indianapolis shows how serious we are about supporting those who’ve sacrificed for our nation.”
Veterans who qualify for this relief will be contacted by ForgiveCo., with no application or sign-up required. Verizon, which currently employs more than 8,000 veterans, has been recognized as a Military Friendly company for seven consecutive years.
