BREAKING: NFL Insider Tom Pelissero, Names Georgia Player Who Could Be Surprise Round 1 2025 NFL Draft pick.

The 2025 NFL Draft kicks off this week in Green Bay, with the first round set to begin Thursday night at Lambeau Field.

As always, the SEC is expected to be heavily represented, with some mock drafts projecting that up to half of the first 32 picks could come from the powerhouse conference.

Most of the projected first-rounders are already familiar names to fans, but surprises are always a possibility. NFL.com insider Tom Pelissero highlighted five potential shockers who could sneak into Round 1.

Georgia OL Jared Wilson has record setting NFL Combine performance

One of those names is Georgia offensive lineman Jared Wilson, who spent most of last season starting at center for the Bulldogs. Pelissero noted that while some scouts see North Dakota State’s Grey Zabel as a center prospect, Wilson is likely the top true center in the class. Per Pro Football Focus, Wilson didn’t allow a single sack over 511 pass-blocking snaps in his first year as a starter.

Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 310 pounds, Wilson fits the mold of many Georgia centers—more quick than powerful—but he wowed scouts with his testing numbers at the combine. Although most expect him to be a Day 2 pick, it wouldn’t be a major surprise if he slips into the first round.

All it takes is one team to fall in love with his potential. We’ll find out Thursday night in Green Bay.
