Miami Hurricanes redshirt freshman edge rusher has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal, as reported by On3’s Hayes Fawcett. After redshirting during his first year in Coral Gables, he still has four years of eligibility remaining.
He was a notable recruit in the 2024 class. He was rated a four-star prospect and the No. 26 edge rusher in the country by 247Sports, while On3’s Industry Rankings had him as a three-star and the No. 39 edge nationally. Despite the differing evaluations, both outlets ranked him among the top 15 prospects in Ohio. At 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, he drew widespread attention during his recruitment, receiving over 60 scholarship offers.
Originally committed to Michigan, Rudolph flipped to Miami in August 2023. However, his freshman season saw minimal playing time—he appeared in just two games, logging a single tackle in a blowout win over Ball State and playing only four defensive snaps.

His decision to transfer comes on the first day of the spring portal window. He joins a growing list of Hurricanes entering the portal this spring, including wide receiver Ny Carr, safety Zaquan Patterson, and defensive tackle Joshua Horton.
Head coach Mario Cristobal and his staff were already planning to target help at defensive tackle, safety, and wide receiver due to the team’s youth at those spots heading into the 2025 season. With Rudolph’s departure, the need for reinforcements along the defensive line becomes even more pressing.
