The college football transfer portal can be a double-edged sword, and that’s proving true for the Georgia Bulldogs this spring. While the portal offers a chance to strengthen certain positions, Georgia has taken a hit to its running back depth. On Wednesday, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported that junior running back has entered the transfer portal. He is now in his fourth year, has two years of eligibility remaining and is seeking a fresh start—particularly to move past a string of injuries.
According to On3’s Jake Rowe, he has faced significant setbacks the past two seasons. He missed the entire 2023 season due to a torn patella tendon and sat out the spring game before that with a broken foot. Since then, he’s also battled a sprained MCL, as well as a torn meniscus and PCL in 2024. Over his three years at Georgia, Robinson appeared in 18 games, rushing for 403 yards and six touchdowns on 93 carries—330 of those yards came during his freshman season in 2022. He also logged seven catches for 35 yards.

Even with Robinson’s departure, Georgia retains five scholarship running backs. Sophomore Nate Frazier, the team’s leading rusher from last season, is set to return. Rowe anticipates that the Bulldogs will look to the transfer portal to bring in another back to help fill the void left by Robinson.
