The South Carolina Gamecocks made a strong showing in the 2025 WNBA Draft, a moment of pride for head coach Dawn Staley.
Three former Gamecocks—Te-Hina Paopao, Bree Hall, and Sania Feagin—heard their names called on Monday night, heading to the Atlanta Dream, Indiana Fever, and Los Angeles Sparks, respectively.
Staley took to social media to share her excitement and pride in her players, commending their dedication throughout their college careers as they prepare for the next chapter in the WNBA.

What’s next for Dawn Staley, South Carolina
It’s become almost expected that standout players under Dawn Staley at South Carolina eventually make their way to the WNBA.
Staley has built a culture of excellence within the program, leading the Gamecocks to multiple national championships during her tenure. Watching her players advance to the professional level is a rewarding bonus for the Hall of Fame coach.
In the 2024-25 season, South Carolina posted an impressive 35-4 overall record and went 15-1 in SEC play, capturing the SEC title and making yet another deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
Their quest for back-to-back national championships came up short, however, as they fell to the UConn Huskies in a lopsided 82-59 loss in the 2025 title game.
Still, as Staley prepares to reshape her roster in the offseason to remain a national contender, she can take pride in the fact that three of her former players earned their place in the WNBA.
