Limited Production and Developmental Struggles
After redshirting in 2023 and appearing in just two games, Gilbert was expected to take a step forward in 2024. He saw limited action in eight games, finishing the season with five tackles and one tackle for loss. His most impactful showings came against Ohio and Southern Miss, though he played just 53 snaps total. Struggles with maintaining his playing weight seemed to impact his consistency and availability.
