Though he’s had a slow start in 2025, Wong was a crucial part of Boston’s offense last season. Despite narrowly missing the qualifying number of plate appearances, his .758 OPS would have ranked third among American League catchers, according to MLB stats. Losing him so early in such an important series is a tough blow for the Red Sox.
