In his most recent 2025 NFL Draft mock, The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman projected a trade between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cleveland Browns. According to Feldman’s scenario posted Wednesday, Rams general manager Les Snead moves back from the No. 26 overall pick, exchanging it with Cleveland for the No. 33 and No. 94 picks in the draft. The Browns selected Ohio State offensive tackle Josh Simmons with the No. 26 pick, while the Rams used their new second-round pick to draft Florida State cornerback Azareye’h Thomas.
Feldman noted that a lineman like Ohio State’s Donovan Jackson or Alabama’s Tyler Booker, or a cornerback like Notre Dame’s Benjamin Morrison or Kentucky’s Maxwell Hairston, would also be logical picks for the Rams. However, with their previous success selecting two former Seminoles, Jared Verse and Braden Fiske, the Rams are seen as a good fit for Thomas. The 6-foot-1½, 197-pound corner has long arms (32 3/8 inches) and is known for his fluid coverage skills. His former defensive coordinator at Florida State, Adam Fuller, now serves as the Rams’ safeties coach, which creates a potential connection between the player and the team.
Feldman shared an insight from an offensive coordinator, who praised Thomas’ length and ability to challenge receivers: “He’s so, so long, he gives guys a lot of problems, and he can stay on you pretty well,” the coordinator said. However, the coordinator also mentioned that Thomas might lack top-end speed and burst, describing him as more of a “glider.” Last season, Thomas started all 12 games for the Seminoles, finishing with 52 tackles, the second-most on the team, earning an All-ACC honorable mention.
