BREAKING: Kalen DeBoer Reveals Encouraging Injury updates On Keon Sabb, Who Had Season-Ending Injury.

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer is optimistic about the return of defensive back Keon Sabb, who is working hard to come back from a season-ending foot injury.

Sabb made an immediate impact in Alabama’s secondary last season after transferring from Michigan. He played in seven games, recording two interceptions, four pass breakups, and 34 tackles before a broken foot sidelined him for the rest of the year.

Since the injury, Sabb has been dedicated to his rehab, aiming to rejoin the team for his senior season—a commitment that has impressed DeBoer.

“Keon has continued to receive great feedback,” DeBoer said Friday after the team’s second scrimmage. “Today’s update was probably the most encouraging one yet. We expected steady progress, but it’s exciting to see him hitting those milestones.”

DeBoer also praised Sabb’s determination and mental toughness during his recovery.

“It was a serious injury, but I’ve never doubted his toughness,” DeBoer added. “Last fall, he pushed through a lot—especially during the Tennessee game and the stretch leading up to it. He’s a fighter, and people really respect that, including myself.”

Sabb’s return is expected to play a key role as Alabama works to build one of the top defensive backfields in the country this season.
