For the second time this week, the Miami Hurricanes have secured a commitment from an in-state offensive lineman in the Class of 2026. On Wednesday, Jacksonville Bolles School’s JJ Sparks announced his decision to join Miami. The three-star prospect, standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 300 pounds, is ranked No. 71 among interior offensive linemen in his class and No. 108 overall in Florida, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He had received offers from over two dozen programs.
“First and foremost, I want to thank God for blessing me with this opportunity,” Sparks shared on his personal X account. “To my family, thank you for your love and support. To my coaches, I appreciate you pushing me to be the best version of myself on and off the field. After much prayer and consideration, I am proud to announce my commitment to the University of Miami.”
Sparks’ commitment follows that of three-star Fort Myers offensive lineman Joel Ervin, who pledged to Miami on Sunday. With these additions, the Hurricanes now have eight commitments in their 2026 recruiting class. Alongside Sparks and Ervin, Miami’s class includes four-star linebacker Jordan Campbell (Carol City), four-star cornerbacks Camdin Portis (Charlotte Myers Park) and Jaelen Waters (Seffner Armwood), four-star running back Javian Mallory (West Boca Raton), four-star quarterback Dereon Coleman (Orlando Jones), and four-star offensive lineman Ben Congdon (Mineral City, Ohio – Tuscarawas Valley).
