BREAKING: Arkansas To Land 5-Star Prospect Who Remains The Top Uncommitted Player In The 2025 Class, Ranking No. 4 Nationally.

On Tuesday night, 2025 basketball prospect Nate Ament was set to announce his college commitment during the McDonald’s All-American game. However, just hours before tipoff, he decided to delay his decision.

Nate Ament Postpones His Commitment

“I’m just not 100 percent sure yet; I want to take some extra time to feel completely confident in my decision,” Ament told ESPN’s Paul Biancardi. “I’ll talk things over with those in my circle and also pay attention to some moves in the transfer portal now that the tournament is wrapping up.”

Ament is being heavily pursued by top programs, including Duke, Kentucky, Louisville, Tennessee, and Arkansas, with each school making a strong case for his commitment. Kentucky pledge Malachi Moreno, along with future Duke players Cameron and Cayden Boozer, have been actively recruiting the five-star prospect to join them.

Arkansas, however, has its own top-tier recruits working to sway Ament. Before Tuesday’s All-American game, five-star Razorback commit Meleek Thomas made his pitch for Ament to join him in Fayetteville.

“My message to Nate has been simple—if you want to play with winners, come to Arkansas,” Thomas said. “If you want teammates who will really have your back, this is the place…

“We already feel like we can win a national title with just me and [Acuff Jr.], so if we add another high-level player like Nate, the sky’s the limit.”https://x.com/JacobMorrisTV/status/1906836837538070743?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1906836837538070743%7Ctwgr%5E9dfcf8b8219ee305ce8d0d96d89428fc332bda11%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Frazorbackers.com%2Farkansas-commits-after-nate-ament-postpones-announcement

Arkansas’ 2025 recruiting class is actively working to persuade Nate Ament to join the Razorbacks, but for now, fans can only wait. Ament remains the top uncommitted player in the 2025 class, ranking No. 4 nationally per the 247Sports Composite. He’s also the No. 2 power forward and the top-ranked prospect in Virginia.

So far, head coach John Calipari has secured commitments from five-star guard Darius Acuff, four-star 6-foot-7 combo guard Isaiah Sealy, and five-star Meleek Thomas. If Ament chooses Arkansas, he would be the first true frontcourt addition to the class. With Zvonimir Ivisic and Jonas Aidoo departing, the Razorbacks will need all the frontcourt depth they can get this offseason.
