The South Carolina Gamecocks are headed back to the Final Four after securing a hard-fought 54-50 victory over Duke. Under head coach Dawn Staley, the team continues its pursuit of another championship.
With Texas and TCU set to face off on Monday night at 7 PM to determine their next opponent, Staley shared her expectations for both potential matchups.
“If it’s Texas, we’re going to muck it up just like we do in the SEC. If it’s TCU, much the same, because they can put up a lot of points,” Staley said. “I just hope we can get our offense flowing a little better. We haven’t been able to play as fluidly as I’d like, but I thought we had better pace than we did in the Sweet 16 against Maryland. When you have two teams that really defend, it’s going to be a grind.”
South Carolina already faced Texas during the regular season, splitting their two matchups. However, they have yet to go up against TCU this year.
