While the basketball transfer portal is making waves, the Kentucky Wildcats just scored a major victory in football recruiting.
On Sunday evening, Kentucky secured a commitment from 4-star prospect Jarvis Strickland, who announced his decision on Instagram. He becomes the Wildcats’ first high school football commitment for the class of 2026.
Strickland, a 6-foot-6, 294-pound lineman from Paducah Tilghman, is the top prospect from Kentucky in his class according to 247 Sports, ranking 203rd nationally and 17th among offensive tackles. He chose Kentucky over offers from schools like North Carolina, Tennessee, Michigan, Louisville, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Memphis, and Maryland, among others.
Strickland is scheduled to visit Kentucky officially on May 30th and Vanderbilt on June 6th, as reported by 247 Sports.
This is a huge win for Kentucky, especially given the struggles of their offensive line since 2022. However, considering the competition for Strickland’s commitment, securing his signature in December will likely be a tough challenge.
