BREAKING: BYU Has Added Their First Addition Of The Offseason As Washington Transfer Dominique Diomande Has Committed To BYU.

BYU has made its first offseason addition with the commitment of Washington transfer Dominique Diomande, sources confirm. Pete Nakos of On3 was the first to report the news.

Originally from Ivory Coast and France, Diomande joined Washington mid-year, enrolling in January and redshirting. The 6-foot-8 forward brings NBA potential and an immediate-impact skill set to BYU. He has been projected as a top-50 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft by DraftExpress.com and was highlighted as one of 11 “Under the Radar Freshmen with NBA Potential” by NBADraftRoom.com.

Diomande is not considered a developmental player and is expected to contribute right away. A European basketball insider described him as “a highly athletic wing with good size, strong ball-handling skills, and a reliable shot.”

He fits the mold of a 3-and-D wing and is capable of playing both the three and four positions for BYU.

French Forward Joins Huskies on Big Ten Road Trip

While he may not start, Diomande is expected to be a key part of BYU’s rotation. Turning 20 in June, he has multiple years of professional experience in Europe. Although not as seasoned as Mawot Mag, he will help fill a defensive gap and offers an intriguing offensive skill set with his athleticism, ball-handling, and scoring ability.

This acquisition may not generate national buzz due to Diomande’s lack of college experience, but he has the potential to make a significant impact at BYU both this season and beyond. Highlights of Diomande’s play can be found below.
