The Buffalo Bills have secured a four-year, $76 million contract extension with cornerback , according to a source familiar with the deal, as reported by UPI on Saturday.
At 24 years old, he has played in 39 games for the Bills over the past three seasons. He entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick in the 2022 draft.
During the previous season, he recorded a career-high 64 combined tackles, along with 10 passes defended, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and a sack across 15 starts. Over his first three seasons, he amassed five interceptions.
Pro Football Focus ranked Benford fourth in defensive performance among cornerbacks who played at least 50% of 1,204 snaps in the 2024-25 season. He also received the second-best tackle rating and the fourth-best coverage rating in that category.
In the 2023-24 season, Benford tied for the eighth-highest defensive rating among eligible cornerbacks, securing the fourth-best tackle rating and 10th-best coverage rating.
