Following a recent $300 million spending spree, the Minnesota Vikings are expected to have their sights set on South Carolina Gamecocks safety in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. With the draft now less than a month away, speculation is intensifying.
Athlon Sports NFL draft analyst Luke Easterling has identified him as an ideal selection for the Vikings, calling him a “dream fit.” Easterling explained: “This would be a perfect scenario for the Vikings, who gain valuable draft capital in the middle rounds while still landing the player they should have taken initially. He is a rare athlete with the size, athleticism, range, and playmaking ability to thrive in Brian Flores’ defense.”
The Vikings have been highly active this offseason. In just one week in early March, they traded for or signed 14 players, spending over $300 million, according to ESPN. Meanwhile, questions remain about quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ future.
On March 26, NFL.com reported that Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah addressed the quarterback situation, stating: “Right now, given all of our scenario planning, we’re happy with our room. Obviously, we’re going to talk a lot about J.J. McCarthy. But Brett Rypien, who we brought in last offseason, is a better athlete than people give him credit for … we’re excited about him. And we’re always going to keep looking to see if we can upgrade that position, just like every other position.”
Regarding Rodgers, Adofo-Mensah added: “We reached a point where everything was transparent, but right now, we feel good about our direction. It’s ultimately up to him—it’s hard to discuss a player who isn’t under contract with our team. His future is his decision, but that’s where we left it.”
Meanwhile, Emmanwori is drawing interest from several other NFL teams, according to Pro Day reports. Steelers defensive backs coach Gerald Alexander spoke with Emmanwori before on-field drills, as reported by 247 Sports. Additionally, the Falcons, Panthers, Seahawks, Dolphins, and Bengals have all expressed interest, according to Josh Kendall of The Athletic.
