Smart, who guided the Bulldogs to consecutive national championships in 2021 and 2022, once again faces challenges that could affect team dynamics. According to ESPN, wide receiver Nitro Tuggle, a rising sophomore, was arrested early Thursday morning by Athens-Clarke County Police on misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and speeding. As a result, Georgia announced his indefinite suspension from all team activities, per On3’s Rusty Mansell.
In a separate incident, offensive lineman Marques Easley was involved in a car accident Monday night, which also led to his indefinite suspension. “Nitro Tuggle and Marques Easley have been suspended indefinitely from all team activities,” UGA Sports Communications stated to On3’s DawgsHQ on Thursday. “There will be no further comment.”

One of the most tragic occurred in January 2023, when a fatal crash claimed the lives of offensive lineman Devin Willock and staff member Chandler LeCroy. Head coach Kirby Smart has acknowledged the challenges of curbing such behavior among players, stressing the importance of accountability and adherence to team standards.
