Unless something unexpected happens, Miami Hurricanes quarterback is expected to be in Nashville next month, with the Tennessee Titans’ coaching staff and front office fully committed to making him the future of their franchise.
To their credit, Mike Borgonzi and Chad Brinker have taken steps to strengthen the offensive line, signing Dan Moore to solidify the left tackle position and adding Kevin Zeitler on a one-year deal to bolster the interior. These moves should significantly improve the Titans’ offensive line in 2025, and with Brian Callahan and Bill Callahan overseeing development, they can be trusted to maximize the unit’s potential.
With the offensive line in place and a new quarterback on the way, the Titans must now focus on adding more weapons at the pass-catching positions.
While Calvin Ridley is a valuable asset, relying too heavily on a single target could make things difficult for a rookie quarterback. There are still free-agent options available, but if Tennessee plans to go that route, they need to act quickly.
If free agency doesn’t provide a solution, Pro Football Focus recently highlighted each team’s best realistic trade asset, with 25% of the list consisting of pass-catchers—five wide receivers and three tight ends. These five receivers were specifically mentioned, and the Titans may want to consider making a move for one of them.
1. Romeo Doubs (Green Bay Packers)
The Titans have limited depth behind Ridley, with a receiving corps made up mostly of backup-level players who ideally wouldn’t be starters but may be forced into larger roles if immediate reinforcements aren’t added. Romeo Doubs, a rising talent, would be a valuable addition to Callahan’s offense and provide an upgrade at the position.
2. Alec Pierce (Indianapolis Colts)
In-division trades have become more common in recent years, and with Alec Pierce approaching the final year of his contract, his future with the team is uncertain. Given the depth chart, he seems to be the odd man out, and if his current team doesn’t view him as a long-term piece, the Titans could explore acquiring him for a Day 3 pick to see how an affordable, young deep threat fits into their offense.

When you look at the depth chart there, Pierce appears to be the odd man out, and if they don’t see a future with him, the Titans could consider offering a Day 3 pick to test out how a cheap, young deep threat would work in their offense.
3. Tyreek Hill (Miami Dolphins)
Tyreek Hill remains a talented receiver, but his sharp decline in production last season was striking, even with an extra game played in 2024. While Borgonzi has a history with Hill from their time in Kansas City, the Titans are not in a position to realistically pursue the veteran speedster.
4. George Pickens (Pittsburgh Steelers)
George Pickens appears on PFF’s list, but it’s unlikely that the Pittsburgh Steelers would actually trade him. They recently acquired DK Metcalf, finally giving Pickens a fitting counterpart in the offense. Additionally, there are some concerns regarding his off-field attitude that teams would need to consider.
5. Brandon Aiyuk (San Francisco 49ers)
Few players have seen their trade value decline as rapidly as Brandon Aiyuk. Following consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, he held out for a new contract while the 49ers weighed their options. Ultimately, they signed him to a four-year, $120 million extension, but regret quickly set in as he struggled in the first half of the season before suffering a torn ACL in Week 7.
