The Patriots’ wide receiver corps took a significant step forward on Tuesday evening.
Just over two weeks after the NFL’s initial free agency wave, New England reportedly reached an agreement with free-agent wideout Stefon Diggs. According to multiple reports, Diggs—who is recovering from a season-ending ACL tear—will sign a three-year, $69 million contract, with $26 million guaranteed, to join the Patriots in Foxboro.

News of Diggs’ reported deal sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, including an enthusiastic post from veteran receiver Kendrick Bourne, who is eager to team up with his new teammate.
“Ooooooo yeaaaaaaaa!! Let’s workkkk!!!,” Bourne shared on X.
As Diggs approaches his 32nd birthday in late November, his performance in New England remains to be seen. However, based on his past production and star power, the four-time Pro Bowler is arguably the best wide receiver the Patriots have had since Julian Edelman.
With that in mind, it’s safe to assume rookie quarterback Drake Maye is thrilled about Diggs’ arrival.
