BREAKING: Joel Klatt’s Top 5 Surprised WR’s In 2025 NFL Draft With Colorado Top prospect Inclusive.

Joel Klatt will always be one of my favorite analysts, not just because he’s from CU, but because he truly understands college football. That said, did he get his top five wide receivers right for the 2025 NFL Draft? Spoiler alert: There’s no question about No. 1—Travis Hunter is the top choice.

Klatt’s list includes:

1. Travis Hunter (Colorado)

2. Tetairoa McMillan (Arizona)

3. Emeka Egbuka (Ohio State)

4. Matthew Golden (Texas)

5. Luther Burden (Missouri)

Let’s be real—there’s no question about Hunter at No. 1. The guy is a walking highlight reel with top-tier ball skills. Whether he’s outmuscling defenders, making incredible catches, or burning through defenses, Hunter is the clear WR1 in this class. His experience as a cornerback only adds to his threat—he knows exactly how to set up defenders and create separation.

McMillan at No. 2 is an interesting choice. He has the size and body control, but he wasn’t always dominant at Arizona. Egbuka is a technician—Ohio State receivers are always well-polished—but does he have the elite playmaking ability of a true WR1?

Golden and Burden round out the list, both showing explosiveness, but Burden’s route running needs improvement, and, as Klatt points out, Golden’s best moments came in clutch situations rather than consistent dominance.

If there’s any debate, it’s about the players behind Hunter, not the guy at the top. Klatt nailed No. 1—Travis Hunter is the best WR in the 2025 NFL Draft, no question.
