BREAKING: Cam Ward Had Bold Message For Titans GM Mike Borgonzi After Impressive Miami Pro Day.

The 2025 NFL Draft is now less than a month away, and Miami quarterback Cam Ward and Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter are still competing to be the first player selected by the Tennessee Titans. Ward made an impression on scouts during his Pro Day at the Hurricanes’ practice facility on Monday, and afterward, he shared a bold and confident message for Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi.

“I told him, ‘I’m solidifying it today,'” Ward said when asked about his conversation with Borgonzi. “They finally got to see me throw in person. That should be all they need to see. But at the end of the day, I’m going to be happy with whatever team I go to. I’m just trying to play football.”

Cam Ward Gaining Momentum As Potential No. 1 Pick In 2025 NFL Draft

Most mock drafts initially had Carter, who missed the combine due to shoulder and foot injuries, as the top contender for the No. 1 pick by the Tennessee Titans. However, as the draft process progresses, Ward, a quarterback, has gradually gained momentum for the top spot.

“As we get closer to the draft, it’s looking increasingly likely that Ward will be the first overall pick, whether it’s to the Titans or to one of the QB-needy teams just behind them in the order, if a trade to No. 1 occurs. In this scenario, Tennessee stays put and gets a fresh start at the position,” said NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah in his latest mock draft.

This would likely leave Carter available for the Cleveland Browns at No. 2, where he could pair with superstar Myles Garrett to form one of the league’s top pass-rushing duos. Garrett, who recently rescinded his trade request, signed a four-year, $160 million contract to stay in Cleveland. Meanwhile, Carter is scheduled to work out at Penn State’s Pro Day on Friday and could potentially boost his stock with a standout performance, re-entering the No. 1 pick conversation.
