Guyer High School in Denton, Texas, has long been a prime recruiting spot for the Oklahoma Sooners. However, last week, a highly sought-after edge rusher from Guyer was particularly impressed by the Georgia Bulldogs. According to On3’s Jeremy Johnson, four-star prospect Zane Rowe had a great experience during his visit to Georgia.
“I got to spend time with coach David Hill, coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe, coach Tray Scott, and coach Kirby Smart,” Rowe shared with Johnson. “They emphasized the importance of excellence in all areas of life and made it clear that I’m their top target for the 2027 class.”
Rowe was also highly impressed with Georgia’s practice style, calling it the most structured and intense college practice he’s observed. Johnson noted that Oklahoma remains the favorite to land Rowe, but the Bulldogs have made a strong impression. “Georgia is definitely high on my list and a major contender,” Rowe stated.
Reflecting on his visit, Rowe described the Georgia practice as the most detail-oriented and rigorous he has seen. “Watching practice got me fired up, and seeing the weight room just motivated me even more,” he added.

According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Zane Rowe is ranked among the top 100 recruits in the 2027 class. He is also listed as the No. 3 defensive lineman and the eighth-best prospect from Texas in his class. As of now, the Bulldogs have yet to secure a verbal commitment from a 2027 recruit, though they currently have six solid commitments for their 2026 recruiting class.
