Former Alabama quarterback Dylan Lonergan is embracing a fresh start after transferring to Boston College in December.
A former four-star recruit from Georgia, Lonergan made the move after spending last season as the third quarterback on Alabama’s depth chart behind Ty Simpson and Jalen Milroe.
Speaking to reporters for the first time since joining the Eagles, Lonergan reflected on his decision to leave Alabama following Boston College’s spring practice on Tuesday.
“For me, it was just kind of time for a change,” Lonergan said. “When (Nick) Saban left, that was kind of a transition… I love all the guys still at Bama and have so much respect for them, but for me, it was just time for a change.”
Now, Lonergan is set to begin a new chapter in the ACC with Boston College, where he reunites with former Alabama offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien, who originally recruited him to Tuscaloosa.
