Curtis has made it clear that he will only take official visits to Georgia and Oregon, effectively removing South Carolina from serious consideration. The highly sought-after prospect, ranked as the nation’s top quarterback and the No. 2 overall player in the 2026 class, had previously been expected to visit Columbia in late June.
While missing out on Curtis is a setback, South Carolina’s 2026 recruiting class remains strong, with five players already committed. Leading the group is four-star safety J’Zavien Currence, who has been pledged to the Gamecocks since October 2024. With plenty of time left before signing day, Shane Beamer and his staff still have opportunities to put together another strong class.
